Search Help
There are three search boxes that may be used when trying to find a specific company or business type. Each box can be used individually or any combination of the three may be used together to refine your search.
The Who: is the name of the business you are looking for. It will match the exact word or phrase you enter as appears anywhere in the Company Name. For example: Brown Bro will find Brown Brothers and Brown Bros. but not Brown-Smythe Brothers.
The Where: is the location the business will be found in. It requires a full place name but is not case-sensitive. For Example: dunfermline will return all matches in Dunfermline, Dunf will return nothing.
The What: is the type of business you are after. For Example: Solicitor, Musician, Architect, Financial Advisor or Computer Supplies. Each entry in the directory has a number of associated keywords and this is what this searches. You may enter any number of words but the matching record must contain them all, in any order.
Combining the search boxes. Enter Who: smith, Where: rosyth, What: solicitor. Will return all solicitors in Rosyth with the word smith somewhere in the company name.
We are constantly looking at ways of refining the search method without compromising the speed of response. The site is young but will mature in time and can only improve.
